The People’s Race Turns 50! Check out Eugene’s Butte to Butte

The 2024 OTC Butte to Butte is back, occurring Thursday, July 4th. What a great way to ring in the 4th of July by participating in Eugene’s longest running community road race since beginning in 1973!

The entire event is brought to you by the great folks at Oregon Track Club, who definitely know a million things about running. All profits from the event will support Oregon Track Club programs, such as the summer all-comers’ meets for kids and maintenance of Pre’s Trail, among other great things.

Butte to Butte offers three distances (event schedule) – a 10k and a 5k, as well as the 4 Mile Mayor’s Fitness Walk.  This course will take a half mile jaunt through neighborhoods before turning onto the Donald Street Hill and then taking a downhill to a flat and fast finish on 5th Street between High and Pearl. You can check out the course maps here.

There are tons of awards and prizes being handed out at the event – including prize money. There are team options and a Finish Festival which will keep the holiday festivities rocking!

Make sure to get your registration in for the OTC Butte to Butte, and kick-off the morning to your Fourth of July festivities in style!
