Memorial Day is a holiday that can sometimes be looked at as only a day off from work or school. Or a frustration at finding the banks and post offices closed while completing errands. But when we stop for just one minute to think about it, we know that the day is (and should be) about much more. If you have more than just a few minutes for thankful reflection, then consider spending that time in Washougal for the Reflection Run.

This race kicks off a day of remembrance and gratitude to pay tribute to the courageous individuals who have served or are currently serving in our Armed Forces, while also commemorating those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. As you traverse the course, you’ll be greeted by local Hero Posters, honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
The event on Monday, May 19th includes multiple distances for participants. The course will include a journey along the scenic routes of the Columbia River, with breathtaking views of majestic Mt. Hood and the awe-inspiring Gorge. Whether you’re conquering the Half Marathon, 10K, or 5K, each step you take will be a symbol of respect and appreciation.
Beyond the race, your participation will support various Northwest Battle Buddies and other Military Organizations and Non-profits, ensuring that our heroes receive the assistance and recognition they deserve.
