Being a runner means being hot, being cold, and sometimes being both at different phases of a single run. While the chill might go straight through you on the way out the door, sweat could be dripping by the top of the first hill. So it’s essential to have gear that will help you balance your temperature without weighing you down. Buff provides a variety of headgear and neckgear (and some that can be both!) to help you keep moving no matter the temperature.
The DryFlx Headband seems like a simple piece of fabric, until you realize that this seamless stretchy fabric is breathable yet warm. I wear mine over my ears to start the run then tuck behind to help cool off later in the miles. I received the Camelia style (which is currently sold out) and love the silver reflective pattern simply brushed onto the pink fabric. And it is so tiny that I can tuck into a pocket for a walk if I want some back-up warmth.

Next in the headgear arena was a DryFlx Beanie, this time in Brindle Brown (which I think is the official color of spring in the rainy PNW). The fabric is double-layers to provide lots of warmth, again without a seam to annoy you. This beanie is a little too shallow for my head size so I’ll be using it as part of my recovery from a run when I need to warm up before the ride home.
Before I shift to the neckwear, I have to highlight a video on the Buff website for anyone who is brand new to a “snood.”
So. Many. Options!!!
I have a basket full of neckwear from Buff and am happy to get to add two more to the mix. DryFlx Neckwear is the more robust of the two with elastic sewn into the ends for stability. The length helps with all of the wearing options and the beautiful blue includes that same reflective pattern to help keep safe in darker conditions.
The last piece is an Original EcoStretch Neckwear. As the folks at Buff say “The most versatile accessory ever created. Made from recycled plastic bottles, delivering UPF 50 sun protection and wearable in more than 12 different ways.” The light weight offers protection from the wind on the face and then easily shifts to around the neck or a wrist for later in the run.
Check out Buff for more of their headgear, neckwear, and so much more.
