Blazing Trails at the 2024 Oxbow Trail Runs

The weather is looking up for Spring and it’s getting to be time to hit the trails with NW Dirt Churners again!  If you’re looking for a beautiful trail adventure, the 2024 Oxbow Trail Runs are coming up on April 28th. Choose your own adventure and run the half marathon, the 10k or the 5k.  Check out the course details and make your choice!

All the races will take place at the Alder Picnic Area at Oxbow Regional Park near the Sandy River. All races are cupless and the Half Marathon and 10k will have water and Naked Nutrition for refills at all aid station at the 2-mile turnaround and 9-mile point for the half.

The 5k is relatively flat and splits off from the other courses, heading toward the oxbow bend of the river and the surrounding foothills. The 10k will climb up Alder Ridge and circle around Elk Meadow where you might see Mt Hood if it’s a clear day. There’s a challenging 300-foot climb on the other side of the plateau before meeting back up with the 5k route. The Half Marathon will be two 10k loops with an extra mile on the river though the Ancient Forest Trails with a total elevation of 1800 feet.

Expect a $5 parking fee at the entry booth and minimal cell service. Also pets are not allowed in vehicles or on leashes, so leave your furry friends at home for this race. Alcohol is also not permitted.

At the finish line, grab a cup and some utensils so you can have a root beer float. Guests can also indulge for $5 and sandwiches from ETA will be $10.
