Running Towards Sustainability in PRESSIO

We recently checked came across PRESSIO, an apparel company new to us, but one that lines up nicely in the running space here in the PNW. PRESSIO has a goal to redefine athletic apparel with sustainability in mind. We recently were sent their Men’s Elite Short Sleeve Top to review.

The Company:

PRESSIO isn’t just a relative newcomer in the athletic apparel scene; they’re seeking to be a trailblazer committed to preserving the earth for future generations. From their genesis, PRESSIO has set out to be the most sustainable sportswear company in existence.

Currently, PRESSIO has a catalog of tops, bottoms, and compression items (as well as some accessories) in their arsenal.

The Shirt:

Despite looking pretty simple to the eye, there is actually a lot going on in the Elite Short Sleeve Top. The only logo is a small one on the upper left shoulder and upper back, but it’s pretty minimalistic. The top is really lightweight – honestly, it feels barely there when out on runs – and when you glance closer you can see why.

The back panel is essentially see-through – and not just for show.  It is constructed from a lattice mesh pattern (“EcoTech Vent”) that provides significant breathability at a minimal weight. Then comes Pressio’s 4-phase moisture management system (I don’t know what the phases are, but it’s pretty solid whatever it is).

I think it has something to do with the incorporation of advanced yarns and fibers that lead to the moisture-wicking capabilities, keeping you dry and comfortable during the most demanding workouts. Regardless, if it works it works, and this process WORKS.

As for the sustainability part of the shirt, the dedication is evident in reading more about its construction. Pressio uses certified recycled yarns and blusign approved dyeing. As far as I can tell, this running shirt stands as a beacon of PRESSIO’s unwavering passion for a more sustainable future.

Overall:

This is a really nice running shirt and I honestly love wearing it. It comes with a bit of a price tag, but that’s sometimes the cost of currently doing business in the sustainability sphere. And even then – comfortable AND eco-friendly items can be priced…a little exorbitant. At $65, this tee is definitely not budget, but also not as high as others creating in this lane.

We love the fit and construction of the top and expect it to get a TON more wear through the years.
