While the current season might not be synonymous with prime sunglasses-wearing weather, now is the perfect moment to start thinking ahead. Consider adding a pair of high-quality sunglasses to your Christmas list, or surprise someone you care about with a gift that combines both style and practicality. And why not check out Optic Nerve as an option?!
More about Optic Nerve:
Optic Nerve Sunglasses is a renowned eyewear company that stands out for its commitment to blending style with cutting-edge technology. The company is recognized for its emphasis on producing sunglasses that not only provide superior UV protection but also incorporate innovative features to enhance the overall visual experience. Optic Nerve takes pride in its diverse range of eyewear designed for various outdoor activities, such as cycling, running, and skiing.
FixieSTEALTH
These sunglasses from Optic Nerve are a stellar choice for runners seeking a perfect blend of style and functionality. As someone pushing 40, I can’t tell if its a good or bad thing for my middle schoolers to tell me some of their friends are wearing a similar style. Regardless, they are a full-coverage design, with 100% UV protection, that is both sleek and modern. They truly exude a sporty elegance that complement an active lifestyle.
The frames are constructed with lightweight and durable materials, and the fit has been super great and comfortable even during more intense runs. No bouncing here. The use of advanced lens technology – shatter resistant (thank goodness from someone who drops their glasses all the dang time) polycarbonate mirrored, provides great vision and clarity.
At $79, they look, feel, and perform like pairs that are easily double the price. There are two colors available – the other being white frames with orange lenses.
FixieBLAST Photochromic
These look, and have qualities that are generally similar to the FixieSTEALTH, but there are some key modifications.

Happily, they are still 100% UV protected, have the same lens and frame construction – all important (and necessary) components to good eyewear. The FixieBLAST option differs in that they are completely rimless. Also, they come with a Photochromic lens, meaning that they lighten and darken depending on the brightness of the world around us.
Living in the Pacific Northwest, we’re all too familiar with those runs where the weather transitions from overcast to a sudden burst of sunshine, only to be followed by the return of clouds and a shift back to low-light conditions. It’s a weather rollercoaster that we’ve come to expect. Much like having a packable jacket on hand for such unpredictable moments, why not extend the same practicality to our eyewear? It’s a logical solution for those of us who navigate the dynamic weather patterns of the Pacific Northwest during our runs.
I actually didn’t even realize these were photochromic before I went on my first run with them. I took a before picture (cause I’m a weird quasi-not really-influencer-but not really) and then another mid run and was stunned at the difference.
I didn’t even notice them changing during my run – which I think is a good thing!
These run about double the price of the FixieSTEALTH, but they are super nice and functional – and come (as with all Optic Nerve glasses) with a Lifetime Guarantee.
Tightrope
These glasses diverge from the full coverage of the other pairs we reviewed and look a little more standard and simpler. Obviously, the full coverage style isn’t for everyone (my wife is not a huge fan) and some head shapes don’t look ideal in those larger glasses. So having options like the Tightrope that fit smaller or medium sized faces is great. They also run only about $30, making it an affordable option with plenty of the same perks (UV coverage, polarization, lightweight).
There are a ton of great options – beyond these three – available via Optic Nerve. Check them out!
