I’m primarily an urban runner, but I start paying attention when a trail race promises beautiful sights and a relatively flat course. Tell me more of this wonderous possibility…
At 8 miles, Butte Buster provides participants with a little bit different distance than most courses and the chance to PR their very first time out. The route is a combination of out-and-back with some separate course portions, which means some new sights along the way.
The course will follow the Emigrant Lake Trail / Little Songer Butte Trail using the lakeshore route out and the hillside route back. All participants start at 8am, after a pre-race briefing at the start line. Aid stations will be at miles 1.5, 4, and 6.5, so lots of support along the way. This course is approximately 8 miles with 1,000 feet of gain and loss.
All finishers will earn a finisher medal along with a TBD commemorative item. The finish party will have refreshment and lots of space to enjoy this corner of the Rogue Valley.
