Our friends at Elevated Trail Racing know how to trail race and they’ve been offering to share their trails for a few years now in their neck of the woods (literally) down by Eugene. Coming up just before Halloween, the Westfir 30K/50K gives runners some gorgeous singletrack – but you’ll have to earn it because the RD likes vert!
First is the 30K with over 3,700 feet of gain on the Alpine Trail. But don’t worry – that gain is all in the first half, because it’s an out and back.
The 50K is a classic lollipop course which climbs the same route, then sends runners on a loop, then back for the descent for a total of over 7,000 feet.
First place in both gender categories will receive a free pair of Altra trail shoes, and there will be other prizes available for podium finishers, Masters categories, etc. Oh, and both events are dog-friendly!
