Take a Hike in the Lagos 25L Pack from Cotopaxi

As you may have noticed, Run Oregon has featured quite a few products from Cotopaxi. The quality of their items far surpasses many others we have seen from other top selling outdoor gear retailers. In addition to that, Cotopaxi’s global mission is what really sets them apart.

We are gearing up for the trails this summer with their Lagos 25L Hydration Pack.

Lagos 25L Hydration Pack

I don’t know about you, but I am a fair weather hiker. My sweet spot is those warm summer days as opposed to those where I am getting dumped on. I know that’s not the Oregonian mentality, but I digress. This has been a VERY fair summer for the most part, meaning that testing the new Lagos 25L Hydration Pack could not have come at a better time.

The Lagos is an extremely durable, yet lightweight pack that can be used for just about any on-the-go adventure. The highly packable design is made of repurposed rip stop nylon. It also includes an internal hydration 2.5L pack, as well as a magnetic button to attach the hydration tube – keeping it nearby but out of the way.

I think what I really enjoy about the Lagos is the simple look of it – even though it is chock full of features. It is essentially comprised of one big compartment with an additional compartment made specifically for the hydration pack.

If you opt to not use the hydration pack, however, you could easily use that compartment for smaller items. There is a solid amount of stretch, allowing the pack to get pretty full – if you need that.

There is a small zip compartment on the front for any smaller items you may need quick access to, as well as slightly larger zipped pocket just behind that one. Below those are a stretchy mesh pocket that is great for stuffing extra clothes in.

Add in small pockets on the clipped waistband, and some stretch side pockets for a water bottle or umbrella, and you have a pack that packs in PLENTY of storage space.

It is also super comfortable. It is pretty breathable, and there are tons of options for adjustability. The adjustable hip belt and chest strap assists in finding the optimal load transfer and comfort. When you aren’t wearing, there is a top handle to grab onto and hang off the ground.

I will definitely use the Lagos as a pre- and post-race bag as well, as it is the perfect size for additional running gear. It may not fulfill your overnight pack needs, but it is ideal for day trips.

If you’re an avid outdoor enthusiast, I would definitely recommend checking out other products that Cotopaxi offers. The Lagos comes in five fun color options (Mezcal/Foxglove reviewed).

Thank you to Cotopaxi for providing us with a sample pack. Please read our transparency page for info on how we do our reviews.
