The Oregon Coast hosts some amazing races. If you are looking for a run-cation, look no further than the Oregon Coast. It is the perfect getaway, featuring some of the best scenery Oregon has to offer. Here are a few races happening March 28th 2020:
The Salmon Run 5K, 10K, 15K | Pelican Brewing Co will take place on Saturday March 28th, in Tillamook OR. Join in its third annual event. The race will be held at Pelican Brewery and Tap room and will offer several distances, 5K, 10K and 15K. There is also a kid’s dash (approx. 30 yards), kids are also given a medal for participation. The start and finish will all be held at the brewery and will feature a scenic course through the beautiful Tillamook town. This race will be timed and give runners a fun excuse to come to the coast. It will kick off at 10:05 am on March 28th. All participants will receive an official Pelican Brewing Salmon Run Shirt, an official Pelican Brewing Pint Glass, a pint of Pelican Brewing Five Fin West Coast Pilsner (age 21 and older) or a Pelican Brewing Root Beer. Runners will be invited to join the post race celebration at the brewery with live music, brewery tours and so much more! Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 male and female finishers, as well as recognition for the top finishers per age group. Register for the Salmon Run here.

When: March 28th, 2020 at 10 am
Where: Pelican Brewery and Tap Room: 1708 First Street, Tillamook OR 97141
Cost: $35 for 5K, $40 for 10K, $45 for 15K
The Run Fool will also take place on March 28th, but in Newport OR. This race is for a 2, 4 or 6 person team relay. It will be held at the DDLM Endurance Run course. This event is held the weekend prior to April Fool’s Day, sometimes even on April Fools (if falling on a Saturday). The course is a figure 8 course, made of two loops. The first loop is 1.05 miles, while the second is 1.55 miles. The race is measured by time, not distance. The time run is determined when the gun goes off. Teams will run anywhere from 6 to 12 hours. Times are put in a hat, starting with 6 hours and increments of 15 minutes after. It will be drawn one at a time, determining the time being ran. No one will know the time drawn until it happens. Everyone runs until the clock stops. There is only one rule in this relay, you cannot replace your teammate mid-race. Teammates do not have to keep any running sequence, and can exchange whenever. There will only be one team crowned as the FOOL.
