The 2019 ORRC Best Dam Run 10k will take place in Estacada on Saturday, September 21. This point to point course begins with a shuttle ride from the finish to the start line about six miles southeast of Estacada. The course will take runners and walkers downhill along the beautiful Clackamas River to the finish line at Clackamas River Growlers in Estacada. Online registration is open through September 20th for $45 ($10 discount for pre-registered ORRC members), and day of race registration is available for $50.
Due to the point to point course, participants have to allow some extra time beforehand to catch the shuttle to the start. Parking will be available at the finish at Clackamas River Growlers (map), and shuttles start running at 8:30am. The last shuttle bus will run at 9am (for the 9:30 race start), so don’t miss the bus! There is no parking at the finish at the North Fork Lake, and you’ll be hard-pressed finding a ride to the start at that time.
At the start, runners and walkers will be able to drop off their gear bag (labeled with your bib number) to the gear shuttle, which will transport the gear back to the finish to pick up after the race. Due to safety considerations, strollers and pets are not allowed on the course, and headphones are strongly discouraged, especially during the final 1.5 miles running on Hwy 214.
After the race, stick around for beer garden activities, awards given to overall and age group winners, and raffle prizes for all participants.
