Overcoming a challenge is an amazing boost no matter what your age is. Which makes it great that Kids Obstacle Challenge is a chance for kids ages 5 to 16 to be brave and work through 15 different obstacles on their way to finish line glory, and an all-around great day. And they can bring their parents along too!

This event series is coming to the Portland-area the last weekend in August (8/24-25) with multiple timing options for kids (and their grown-ups) to choose from. There are two main race options. The Razor Competitive Wave is for kids ages 10-16 only. Along with chip timing and different medals, the participants in these races are eligible for prizes. The top three boy finishers and top three girl finishers in each age division win Razor products. For kids in other age groups, or those who want something different, there are multiple Family Wave events that are untimed. And your athlete just wants to keep going and going, unlimited reruns of the course are available for an extra $5.

No matter what their speed, by completing the event, kids earn a medal, headband, free event phots, and Clif Bars to snack on. They also receive an Adventure Passport; they get stamps for participating in activities in the festival area. Get all 10 stamps and you can re-run the course for free.

Check out the website for more details.
