If you’re looking for a family friendly race on the 4th of July, then you should definitely consider the Tilikum Trail Run and Family Fun Day. This annual event includes an adult 5k and 1 mile run and a youth 5k and a 1 mile fun run/walk. It also serves as an opportunity to raise funds for camp scholarships so that every child has a chance to experience summer camp.
Race Day Schedule and Information
9:00AM – 9:45AM Check-in for preregistered runners and race day registration opens
10:00AM – Tilikum Trail Run begins
11:00AM – Awards ceremony
11:15AM – Lunch, $7 per person
12:00PM – Post-race activities
The race course begins in the field next to Tilikum’s historic 1909 Valley View Schoolhouse and includes gravel and paved roadways, grassy fields, a wood foot bridge, forested paths and challenging hillsides. 5k participants will make three loops around Tilikum Lake. Post race activities will include a barbecue picnic lunch (pulled pork sandwiches or all-beef hotdogs, salad, chips, watermelon, drink and homemade dessert) for just $7 per person, archery, swimming, canoeing, fishing, barn animals, relaxing on Lakeside Patio, and the Big Swing. Payment accepted on race day: VISA, MasterCard, check or cash. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division.
