The 2019 Newport Celebration Run will be held on the 4th of July, as always, in Newport. Starting/finishing at Rogue Brewery, these races offer participants the rare opportunity to run on the 1,300+ ft NOAA Pier!
There’s a distance for everyone at this event: 5k run/walk, a 10k run, a half marathon, and a 1-mile kid’s run. All participants, no matter the distance they choose, will receive t-shirts, finisher’s medals, and a post-race meal. You’ll also get a free beer from Rogue Brewery (for the 21+ crowd)!
The half marathon begins with ~5 miles on pavement, followed by another ~5 miles of singletrack trails with logging road section, then heads back to the pavement for the final 2.5+ miles for a [conservative] elevation gain of ~1,500 ft. The cutoff for the half will be 3 1/2 hours and there will be 6 aid stations on the course.
The 5K, 10K, and kid’s run are described as “flat and fast” and “PR courses”! The 5K will have 1 aid station and the 10K will have 3.

At the finish line, grab your finisher swag and enjoy your post-race meal while you wait for the awards ceremony. There will be awards for each distance for the top 3 overall men and women as well as the top Masters (40+) and the top grand masters, (50+.) The overall top male and female Half Marathon winners will also receive an Ultimate Direction Jurek FKT Vest!
This race event will benefit The American Legion Post 116 in Newport.
