Race Preview: 2019 Run of Two Cities (Coos Bay & North Bend)

“It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.” Words from a famous book that English teachers require, and that can often reflect the joy and pain of running.

For this hilly run by the South Coast Running Club, you might be having lots of best and worst times while going up and down all those hills. Run of Two Cities was the club’s original race and apparently a favorite for Pre of U of O fame. The challenging course has runners and walkers traveling between Coos Bay and North Bend. Race directors warn that it’s a challenging race (remember those hills) and is open so participants need to keep a look out during a few street crossings.

Walkers and runners are welcome in the 5K, while the 10K course is for those folks who definitely aim to run the miles. Overall and age group winners receive award ribbons, and of course bragging rights. Post-race snacks will be provided to all the finishers.

And Run Oregon says you can have bragging rights no matter when you finish. Just finish.
