I was recently asked to taste and review a Patagonia Provision box. I was excited to try this product but wasn’t sure what to expect, as I’ve never tried it before. My favorite running rain jacket, is made by Patagonia, but I didn’t even know they sold food…until now!
My box came full of all kinds of wonderful food. Everything was sealed for shelf life, making it easy to store or take on the go. My first thoughts were,”this is perfect for hikers, hunters, and campers.” I wasn’t doing any of those things soon, so I just ate mine from home (along with my boys).
First up to taste was the family favorite buffalo jerky. It tasted very lean and healthy and had way more flavor than store purchased varieties. The salmon also became a favorite as well and after each getting a serving, we all wanted more. It was jam packed with taste and was definitely high quality. I loved that I could just open it and eat it – no prep needed! The Red Bean Chili was very easy and fast to prepare – just add water and we were good to go (definitely perfect for camping)! The Fruit+Almond bars were so full of flavor and I kept them in my car, purse, and even my locker at work for my afternoon snacks! It didn’t take me long to finish them off, due to enjoying them every day!

More about Patagonia Provisions:
With Patagonia Provisions, we’ll focus our efforts even more specifically on building a healthier, more sustainable food chain. We’ll continue giving back through our direct grant program, and as a member of 1% for the Planet, an organization we helped start back in 2002. 1% for the Planet makes it easier for businesses of all sizes to invest in non-profit groups doing what Yvon Chouinard calls “the good work.”
One of the reasons we’re excited about joining the food industry is that it provides a new perspective—and sense of urgency—about some of the environmental issues we’re already addressing. For example, our current salmon products are sourced from Bristol Bay and Yakutat, Alaska, places where groups we support are working to stop the Pebble Mine and preserve Tongass National Forest.
It also helps us engage with organizations more directly involved with food, like Alice Waters’ Edible Schoolyard Project and the Kokua Hawaii Foundation, which introduce children to the concept of growing, cooking and eating healthy, organic foods.
Thank you to for providing us with a sample box. Please read our transparency page for info on how we do our reviews.
