Race Preview: 2018 Rogue River Triathlon (Agness)
Looking for a summer triathlon? The 2018 Rogue River Triathlon on Saturday, August 4th out in Agness, OR might be a good option for you.
This tri will start at 9:00AM with a .5 Mile Swim that travels a short distance up river before participants will get to swim with the down current. Life jackets will be required and water shoes are recommended. After the swim, volunteers will guide participants to the start of the 5k run where folks will run over the Shasta Costa Bridge and follow the river. Finally, it’s time for the 12 Mile bike ride, out on Agness Road heading downriver and continuing on over Coon Rock Bridge. Helmets are required for the bike portion and finishers must dismount their bikes before crossing the finish line. Check out the course map and more info on the routes here.
Rather than a registration cost, there’s a suggested donation (which goes to the Agness Volunteer Fire Dept. & the Agness Community Library) of $35 to $75 to guarantee you a place in the race as well as reserves you a commemorative t-shirt. After you donate, you can use the “sign up” tab to officially register in advance. And you will want to do so, as there is a size cap of 100 participants.
There will be prizes for the top 3 male, female, and teams as well as a celebration following the event with food and refreshments.
