Small Race Preview: 2018 McMinnville Alien Abduction Dash 5K

Here’s a low key race to add to the calendar that also mixes well with family outings. Scheduled during the McMenamins UFO Festival in McMinnville, the Alien Abduction Dash 5K and kids fun run are simple affairs that take the pressure out of racing. This year the route has moved to the Linfield campus, to a bark dust trail that is just short of a mile. With no traffic or hills to worry about, this is a good run for newcomers and youngsters.

The race is on May 19th, with the 5K starting at 9 am and the kids run at 10:15. Online registration is open here, or at the McMinnville Community Center (600 NE Evans St.). Bib pick up can also be done on the Friday prior from 5-6 pm at the Community Center. Day of event registration and check in will be at Lever St and Wildcat Circle. If past years are any indication, zany costumes from the mild to wild will be encouraged and there will be prizes for the best ones. Medals will also be handed out to the overall and age group winners. Due to the event location, pets are NOT allowed.
