Small Race Preview: 2018 Wheatfield Half Marathon, 8K and 3K (The Dalles)

Sometimes the best races out there, are those small ones you never hear about unless you are just in “the know.” The Wheatfield Half Marathon (with an 8K and 3K run/walk too) is just one of those gems. Starting at the Petersburg School building and in support of The Dalles High School’s cross country team, the out and back race runs along on the scenic paved highway, 8-Mile Creek road.

Running on pavement, this race is mostly flat and fast, with a slight up hill at the 4K mark before heading back down the hill. Even though this is a low-key race, there are often a number of competitive runners, and wonderful local support from volunteers. Medals are given out to ALL finishers, woo hoo!

To get a PDF of the entry form, email Coach Bob Thouvenel ( Mail your entry in with a check made out to Friends of Cross Country. Be sure to send your registration in ASAP so the volunteers can prepare all pre-registration bibs ahead of time! Let’s race!
