I volunteered at the Dionysus Dash 5k last year and was really surprised there weren’t more people there – so I made it a personal mission to tell everyone about it for 2018. Primarily because you can’t beat that early registration price and also because Winter’s Hill makes spectacular wine. So if you have a sour (grapes) taste in your mouth from running on a literal race track for sub-par nectar (or maybe even finishing after they’d run out) … check this one out!
First of all – this is NOT an easy jog along the waterfront. It’s run at the Winter’s Hill Winery Estate Vineyard, and there are hills, dales, and some patches of uneven ground. (The race is open to both runners and walkers, so don’t feel like you have to aim for a PR.) But the views are spectacular and then, at the finish, you get wine. Good wine. I can’t stress this enough … life is too short to drink bad wine. See you there, friends!
