Race Preview: 2017 ORRC Blue Lake Runs: Half-Marathon, 5K and Kids Run (Fairview, Or)

Lace up your shoes and grab your friends and family for the 43rd annual Blue Lake Runs on Saturday, October 14 th.  Fall is not the time to let your training slack! Come join runners and walkers of all paces for Oregon Road Runners Club’s fun fall event. Glimpse the Columbia river and beautiful fall foliage while winding on scenic trails before joining up with an out and back portion on paved trails. The course is fast and flat, just perfect for a PR!

With a start time of 10:00 am, you can sleep in and enjoy a cup or two of coffee before heading out to Blue Lake Park. Plan on making a day of it afterward and enjoy a relaxed BBQ picnic with family and friends. Spend the afternoon playing disc golf (if the weather is nice) or casting a line in hopes of catching a fish. Whatever your pleasure, starting the day off with a speedy 5K run / walk or a fast half-marathon, ORRC’s Blue Lake Run is guaranteed to make you smile, even if the Portland skies are grey.

ORRC Members get $10 off when registering online. You’ll also have the opportunity to join ORRC and immediately save $10 off your registration. 5k and half-marathon participants receive a finisher’s medal and t-shirt.

Important Stuff: Parking is $5 at Blue Lake Park and is NOT included with your registration.Please plan accordingly and carpool with your buddies!

Race Day Info: Dogs are not allowed at Blue Lake Park, so please leave fido at home. Participants of the Kids Run receive ribbons and special finishers water bottles, sponsored by Metro Pediatrics.

Kids 1/2 mile starts at 9:30 am, followed by the half-marathon at 10:00 am. The 5K run / walk will begin at 10:10 am. Post-race BBQ and prize drawings will be held at the finish, so stay for the awards and chance to win something cool!
