Small Race Preview: 2017 Parker Archie Moore 3.5-Mile Memorial Run (McMinnville)

The Parker Archie Moore 3.5-Mile Memorial Run was created 3 years ago in honor of Parker Archie Moore, a 20 year old sophomore and Linebacker at Linfield College who was tragically killed on November 15th, 2014. Parker wore jersey number 35, which is why this is a 3.5 mile race chosen to honor his love of Linfield College Football. The McMinnville Police Department and Fire Department, as well as Linfield College, have collaborated to bring this race to McMinnville and all the proceeds go to the Parker Archie Moore Memorial Scholarship Fund, which was set up by his family to pay for scholarships at Linfield to students who exemplify Parker’s outstanding character.

The event takes place on Sunday, October 1st at the Linfield College campus. The race will start on Lever Street in front of the football stadium and will finish on the track surrounding Maxwell Field, which is the home football field for the Linfield College Wildcats. The entire course is within the college campus and will include a 1.5 mile portion on a bark chip running path. There will also be an aid station around the 2 mile mark.

Race organizers are asking that you register as soon as possible, as the finisher t-shirts must be ordered very early this year. The earlier you register, the better your chances of getting your desired shirt size. So register now for a great cause!!
