The Run Foster 5k race is a fundraiser race put on by Embrace Oregon, an organization that connects community members to foster children throughout Oregon and they are dedicated to the flourishing of each foster child. Every day twenty children enter the foster system in Oregon meaning that there are a lot of kids who need our help!
Now in it’s 3rd year, the Run Foster event is a family friendly race within Gabriel Park in SW Portland consisting of two loops with some slight rolling hills. All racers receive a race bib and cool t-shirt. There will be an aid station at the start/finish that runners will pass by on the first loop. This is a fun run, so it is not chip- timed, but there is a timing clock at the finish and prizes will be given to the top 3 male and female race winners. There will also be a photographer to catch you crossing the line and it’s even free to download afterwards!
There is also a Kids Fun Run that starts just before the 5k race. Kids 10 and under can run the 1/4 mile and they will get a finisher medal to show all their friends!
100% of all race proceeds go to Embrace Oregon! Bring the whole family out and support a very good cause!
