Register for more relays and save some money. Gorgeous Runners get 5% off their second relay, 10% off their third relay and 20% off their fourth relay in 2017. Not only did the Gorgeous Series start the one day relays around here, they continue to provide events that are well organized, properly supported, unique and just plain fun. Since the race directors are runners too, they know what makes a good event and it shows. All participants will receive a race shirt, medal, pint glass and complementary beer.

As with most relays, all teams are required to provide a volunteer to work one shift. If your team can’t find a helper, make a $100 donation to the Mazamas and the their organization will provide a volunteer for your team. The Mazamas Mountain Science School provides outdoor education for 5th graders from all backgrounds on the flanks of Mt Hood. The Mazamas is a nonprofit Mountaineering Education Organization based in Portland, Oregon. All participants must be 18 years or older and the team must average an 11:00 mile pace. Due to permits and volunteer schedules, exchanges will close after the 11:00 pace window.

This course lives up to the Gorgeous name, with beautiful views the entire way. The one day relays are perfect to get the relay experience without the headache. You only need one vehicle and your team is done at the end of the day. You don’t have to find a hotel at the finish line or pack your sleeping bag to try and catch a few winks in between legs. One day of gorgeous running with your favorite people. It’s a great way to make memories and perfect way to spend a Sunday. You need to try just one Gorgeous Relay and you’ll be hooked.
