If you like doing adventure runs and you want to try something different than some of the bigger ones that get all the press, come join the party in Lebanon on April 22nd for the Cheadle Challenge Adventure Run. This run is a little over 3 miles and it will fit the bill for the elite runner and the casual walker alike, as it’s meant to be ran, walked, and everything in between. This is the rare adventure run you can do with your family or a team of friends and the proceeds will directly benefit local non-profits. The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Santiam, the Oregon Military Support Network, and the Lebanon Community Foundation are the teams you will select from and they will receive all the funds raised.
You’ll tackle 10 obstacles of varying degrees of difficulty on dirt, gravel, and pavement with names like The Spider’s Web, Slippery Descent, and The Tunnel of Terror. The course will wind through lakeside trails, forests, fields, and even a small swamp. There are things like barriers, streams, tunnels, mud, and fire to navigate through. The course map will be posted by November 1st and it’s anticipated to be between 3.2 and 3.6 miles long with an almost completely flat terrain.
Once you finish this epic mud run, you will receive a finishers medal and be rewarded with a bonfire and a cold beer (or non-alcoholic beverage) and some nice hot soup. You’ll also get a discount certification for food and beverages for the on site beer garden and food vendors, and there will be music at the after-race party as well as the chance to win some drawing prizes, so stay and enjoy the fun for awhile.
