Training for spring marathons is underway; even if you’re looking at a half marathon you probably are already working your mileage increases and training schedule. That’s exactly why Coach Jim puts together these free weekly long training runs! Training with a group has a lot of benefits; you’ll have a pacer, company, and the experience of other runners to draw on.
This Saturday’s run is scheduled from the downtown Road Runner Sports, located at 29 NW 23rd Place, and will start at 8a. The runs are free and open to everyone, you just need to bring your own hydration and nutrition. This run, being downtown, requires attendees to be observant of parking restrictions and hours; please do not park in the shopping center’s ramp.
The route for this weekend is 11.5 miles. It starts out running along Everett and then past PGE Park, over the freeway, and to the Park Blocks. From there, it’s up, and up, and up; up Terwilliger over to SW Barbur and back. Check out the route here; RSVP to the run on facebook here.
