Thanksgiving is just around the corner. For the running nut, this means lots of opportunities to run some great Thanksgiving themed races. If you’re in the Corvallis or Eugene areas, you definitely won’t want to miss out on a couple of great events taking place on Thanksgiving Day:
13th Annual Corvallis Turkey Trot (5k, 10k, 1k Little Gobblers’ Dash)
Bring the family for a fun, flat, fast jaunt through the beautiful neighborhoods of Northwest Corvallis, surrounding the Osborn Aquatic Center. Proceeds from this chip timed event will go towards the Corvallis Parks and Recreation Family Assistance Fund, which gives low-income families and individuals access to programs such as swimming lessons, therapy classes and more. Awards will be given to the overall male and female finishers for each race. Age group ribbons will be mailed out post race so everyone can get home for holiday festivities. There will also be a raffle for bread and other prizes from the event’s sponsors. And lastly, there will be a costume contest, with prizes going out to the best dressed and crowd favorites for each race. Early packet pick up is available November 23rd (location TBA) for those who register on or before November 20. Late registrants may pick up their packet on race day in the Osborn Aquatic Center lobby from 6:30am to 8am.

Turkey Trot Eugene (4 Mile Run, 2 Mile Walk, & 200 Meter Kids’ Gobbler Gallop)
Level 32 presents their family friendly Turkey Trot which features a 4 mile run, 2 mile walk, and a Kids 200 meter Gobbler Gallop. The start and finish for all races takes place in the northwest corner of the Valley River Center mall complex. This year’s chip timed event will support FOOD for Lane County & St. Vincent de Paul. Awards will be presented to the top 3 overall and top one masters male and female finishers in the 4 mile run. The top 3 in each age group in the 4 mile run will receive medallions, with individual print-out of official result. There are no awards for the 2 mile walk. All entrants will be eligible for random prize drawings, including 3-Pairs of HOKA One One running shoes, in partnership with Eugene Running Co. All participants in the FREE 200m kids gobbler gallop fun run will receive a ribbon. Packet pickup will take place Wednesday, November 23, from 11am to 6pm, at FOOD For Lane County (770 Bailey Hill Road) or Eugene Running Company (116 Oakway Center) and on race day from 7am to 8:45am.
