Last weekend, I met the organizer of the Run or Walk for Shelter, a 5k and 1 mile run and walk and a “tot trot” scheduled for this Saturday in Forest Grove. Here at Run Oregon we love to get the word out about smaller races and non-profit events; the Run for Shelter is both!
Registration fees are donation only – you decide what you will pay. All donations will go to the Temporary Emergency Shelter operated by the Forest Grove United Church of Christ and Sonrise Church in Forest Grove, and to advocate for low-income housing in our area.
Although the race is not chip timed, the 5k will be timed. There will be post-run/walk snacks, awards, and raffle prizes for participants, too.
