Boones Ferry Fun Run
The 7th annual Boones Ferry 5k community fun run takes place in Wilsonville on Friday, September 30th at 12 noon. This unique lunchtime race is run in conjunction with the annual kids Fun Run, in which the students of Boones Ferry Primary School collect donations to their school leading up to fun run day. The children then spend 45 minutes of their morning on the running track, running as many laps as they can manage in 20 minutes and following their run with a snack of bananas, oranges, and water.
The race will start and finish on the running track between Boones Ferry Primary and Wood Middle School. The course takes runners on sidewalks out to Wilsonville Road, turn right and then run most of their race on the paved Tonquin Trail through Graham’s Oak Nature Preserve’s oak savannah. At the half way point will be a water station, and the return trip will include a short jaunt on a packed gravel path. After re-joining Tonquin Trail, runners trace the same way back and finish their run on the track under the finish arch. There is no chip timing for the race, but a timing clock will be running for participants to self-time their race. The top three finishers male and female will receive a price (donated by generous sponsors) and there will also be raffle prizes drawn while runners are on the course.
The event is open to runners and walkers. There is a one hour time limit for walkers. You are welcome to run with a stroller, but please leave your pooch at home since dogs are not allowed on school grounds during school hours. All proceeds of the race go to support art and technology enrichment for the primary school students.

Packet Pickup: Thursday, Sept 29, 1:45-2:30pm at Boones Ferry, or the day of the event starting at 11:30am.
