Race Preview: 2016 Ardor Fall Trail Series

Come take part in the Ardor Fall Trail Series, described as a “low-key” 5 race series which will be held weekly, starting Wednesday, September 28. Each race will be between 4-7 miles and will be held on trails within 10 minutes driving distance of Newport, Oregon. The directions and routes will be sent out in an e-mail on Monday prior to the race. The 5 week race Series is a fun way to test your speed as well as earn points for a shot at winning the Series.

Race dates and locations are as follows:

9/28 – Race #1 – Wade Creek
10/5 – Race #2 – Beaver Creek
10/12 – Race #3 – Cape Perpetua
10/19 – Race #4 – South Beach State Park
10/26 – Race #5 – Big Creek Trail

Each race starts at 6PM.

To be counted as a Series participant, you must complete at least 3 races in the Series. Your total Series score is the sum of your three highest race scores. If you run all five races, your lowest scoring race is dropped. Men and women are scored separately. The first male and female get 100 points, regardless of the distance of the race. The closer each finisher is to the winning time of their gender, the more points they earn. At the conclusion of the Series participants will meet at a local pub for the award ceremony and also for a well deserved beer. Awards will be given to the top 3 males and females.

An important thing to note is that anyone has a shot at winning the Series; You don’t have to be the best athlete or fastest runner. The Series is about how many races you run and how well you score in each race. The goal is to participate in at least three of the races and have solid results in each race.

Series entry fee is currently $60 for all 5 races. Sales end on October 5. Registration can be found here: Event Brite Fall Trail Series
