Race Preview: 2016 Albany Half Marathon

The 4th annual Albany Half Marathon is just around the corner! Whether you are looking for a good first-timer half marathon course, a training run before the Portland Marathon, or just a half marathon with a good cause; this race is for you. This event was created to raise money for schools in Albany, Oregon. All proceeds from the Albany Half Marathon go to the Albany schools to generate better facilities and create/maintain after school programs which will focus on teaching youth positive lessons related to physical activity and making good choices.

Join local runners and support Albany schools by running either the half marathon or the 5K. You can bring the kids too. They can run the 1 mile Kids Run. Walkers are welcome to participate in this race, and you are welcome to bring strollers and even your dogs for this event. The course will be well-supported, with water stations about every 2 miles. You can view the half marathon course map here, and the 5K course map at this link.

This race is chip-timed and all participants will receive a medal and a dri-fit shirt. There will also be awards post-race.
