No. Not that bar.
Now that that is cleared up, consider heading out to the North Oregon coast for the 2016 Race to the Bar – a 10k and 5k beach run on the Warrenton sand bar. The race looks to be a unique all around event – from the start at the Peter Iredale Shipwreck site, to a long sandy course, to a bonfire finish.
The courses are simple – out and backs with the Pacific Ocean mere steps away. Make sure you stick around afterwards for the post-race bonfire which will include (as part of your entry fee):
- Race shirt
- Subway sandwich and fruit
- Goodie bag
- Two servings of Fort George beer (one of the best breweries for IPA’s in Oregon, in my opinion)
I mean, just check out this view from last year.
- Friday, Sept. 9, from 3 – 7:30pm
- Packets and bibs are available in the parking lot next to Dooger’s restaurant in Warrenton.
- Saturday, Sept. 10, 3 to 4:30pm
- Packet/bib pick-up will be at the race start site. Ft. Stevens State Park, Warrenton OR at the shipwreck of the Peter Iredale.
