Small Race Previews: 4th of July Races in Central and Eastern Oregon

There are a bunch of races on the 4th of July. We try to get to as many as we can, but sometimes there just isn't enough time in the week to get them all scheduled! If you are looking for some local races on your holiday, read below!

Vale 4th of July Fun Run (Vale)

Our 5K course circles around the town of Vale, with a few of its famous murals along the way. With a hydration station at the halfway point, it’s great for anyone wanting a longer walk or run.

The 10K course is not determined yet. In the past we have done a half trail/half town loop. But due to uncontrolled critters we abondoned that plan for the last two years and have done two loops of the 5K. Critter aggressiveness will determine the route this year. Call or email with questions as we get closer!

All 5K and 10K participants will receive a high quality waterbottle (made by Trek with the Vale XC logo), milk (4 different flavors avaiable, and fruit after finishing. 1 mile can purchase a waterbottle for additional $5.00. Kids under 10 get a medal for finishing ANY race! Prizes for overall winners in each race along with age-group medals!

This is a Vale Chamber of Commerce event, hosted by the Vale Cross Country Team. All profits go back to the Vale High School Cross Country team as their annual fundraiser.

When: July 4 2016 at 830a
Where: Vale City Pool
Register: Online here; $20 ($15 for 5k)
