The 6th annual Banks Linear Trail Brave Run takes place on Saturday, May 14th. This 5k/10k run is organized each year by volunteers at Banks Elementary School, and all proceeds go to support the technology fun at the school. There will be vendors offering samples and refreshments, and you can also buy raffle tickets for a chance to win one (or more) of several prizes donated by local businesses in support of the elementary school’s fundraiser.
The 5k/10k run and walk starts at 9am, shortly after the conclusion of the free kids dash at 8:30am. The out-and-back course starts and ends at the Banks High School track. From the track, event participants head south for a block, then go north on Main Street before hopping on the Banks-Vernonia Trail just after reaching the 1-mile marker. 5k participants will reach their turnaround spot very soon, and the 10k turnaround is located just a little bit north of the Hwy 26 overpass.
Online race registration is now open until Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 11:59pm. Day of race registration will also be available. Register by Monday, April 25th, if you would like a shirt included in your race registration. Early packet pick up is available Friday, May 13, 2016, 4-7pm in the Banks Elementary School Cafeteria, and on the day of the race starting at 7am.
