Race Preview: 2016 Run to Get Lucky 5K & 15K in Corvallis on March 12th

The 5^th Annual Run to Get Lucky 5K and 15K in Corvallis on Saturday, March 12^th is a perfect opportunity to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with friends and family.  The 15K starts at 1:00PM, the 5K at 1:30PM and the Family Races (1K, 1 Mile) start at 2:30PM. With a late start, you don’t have to worry about setting an alarm. You can sleep in and stay well rested for any Irish shenanigans you might have planned for later. This St. Patrick’s Day celebration runs along the riverfront of historic Corvallis. Participants can choose from a 5K ($30/Youth $12) or 15K ($40). Kids can run the one -mile fun run or 1K for $15. Online registration closes on March 9^th, but registration will be available on race day beginning at 11:30AM.

The course is scenic and flat and runs along paths next to the river, through parks in Corvallis and finishes with a family-friendly after party. There is approximately 1 mile of gravel along the 15K course. Sponsored by Cloud & Kelly’s, the race starts and finishes in front of the pub at 126 SW First Street in downtown Corvallis. All finishers earn a pint glass and a free beer or non-alcoholic beverage. Make sure to bring along your ID if you plan on enjoying a beer. The kids even get a finisher cup (not glass) and beverage at the finish line.

Get in the holiday spirit and enter the costume contest at 12:30PM. Awards will be given to the best costume and crowd favorite. There will also be awards for the top three finishers in the 5K and 15K for both men and women. Age group prizes will be awarded for the top finisher in each age division. The post race party will include an Irish street festival  and they are literally closing down the street for this party. There will be food, live music and performances by the Corvallis Irish Dancers.  The Run to Get Lucky 5K and 15K is a great opportunity to see Corvallis and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with your friends and family.
