If you haven't yet seen the trivia questions, then read the original 2016 Zena Road Runs recap post here. Now, to avoid any spoiler incidents,  here's a picture that always makes me laugh:

Mile 1:
Things go from bad to worse
You’d think they can’t get worse than that
And then they do

Song: If You’re Goin’ Through Hell by Rodney Atkins

Mile 2:
Traveling around sure gets me down and lonely
Nothing else to do but close my mind
I sure hope the road don’t come to own me

Song: So Far Away by Carole King

Mile 3:
I’ve got to admit it’s getting better (Better)
A little better all the time (It can’t get more worse)

Song: Getting Better by the Beatles

Mile 4:
Everybody’s bopping ’til there’s nothing left upon your heels
Keep a rocking ’til your legs are aching’ like a tractor wheel

Song: Rock Down Low by Roy Wood

Mile 5:
You can ponder perpetual motion, fix your mind on a crystal day.

Song: Up Around the Bend by CCR

Joe and Kelly somewhere on the home stretch.

Mile 6:
Traveled down the road and back again
your heart is true you’re a pal and a confidant

Song: Thank You For Being a Friend by Andrew Gold, also the theme song from Golden Girls

Mile 7:
Lovely to see you again my friend.
Walk along with me to the next bend.

Song: Lovely to See You by The Moody Blues

Mile 8:
When it’s all said and done you can walk instead of run
‘Cause no matter what you’ll never be alone

Song: Compass by Lady Antebellum

Mile 9:
I have climbed the highest mountains
I have run through the fields

Song: I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For by U2

Finish Line:
Okay, I found what I was looking for. Now I’m hungry.

That’s not a song, it’s just how I felt at the time!

About Kelly Barten (1152 Articles)
I started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because I felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. I also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support LOCAL race organizers. I'm a Creighton Bluejay (undergrad) and an Oregon Duck (Sports Marketing MBA), and I live in Tigard with my husband and two kids. My "real job" is working for an incredibly awesome math textbook company doing marketing and production.
