Channel your inner Steve Prefontaine or Freddie Mercury with the Mustache Dache on Saturday, November 14th at Big Al’s (14950 SW Barrows Road) in Beaverton. This national event isn’t just a novelty run, but also helps support Zero Cancer, a men’s health charity working to end prostate cancer. The 5k starts and finishes at the Big Al’s in Beaverton at 10am and they offer a Kid’s Dache for the 12 and under crowd. Register online for $40 or put a team together and save $5 per participant. Race day registration will be available for $45, just make sure to arrive early.
The Mustache Dache finisher’s medal is as unique as the run itself. It’s a medal, a mustache and a bottle opener. All participants will receive a finisher’s shirt and they offer gender specific sizes and ladies have a v-neck. There will also be prizes for the top 3 finishers in the following age brackets: No Mustache Growers (12 & under), Angst-filled (13-17), ‘Mature’ (18-39), Mid-life Crisis (40-59) and the AARPwesome (60+). The best mustache will get a shout out as well as the best costume and team with the most spirit.
Get registered, find your mustache and show up for some fun. Make sure to pack your photo ID and cash or card if you plan to purchase merchandise. Unfortunately, furry friends have to stay home, this event is for humans only and canines are not allowed on the course. Bring the kids out, organize your work family, or just run it solo, it’s guaranteed to be a great 5k for people watching.
