Race Preview: 2015 ORRC Greenway Trail Trial

The Oregon Road Runners Club continues their Labor Day tradition with their time trial style race. The ORRC Greenway Trail Trial (formerly Wildwood Trail Trial) will be run again this year on the Fanno Creek Trail with all of the fun of the Wildwood Trail race without the mud and rugged terrain and with improved parking options!

The Greenway Trail Trial allows runners to start at anytime between 8:30 and 11:00 A.M. Groups of no more than 5 runners at a time will take off from the start line for this chip-timed race. The only time stipulation is that you must be able to finish by 11:30 A.M., so plan your start time accordingly. Both the 5K and 10K are out and back courses with water stations along the route. Both courses are paved and run entirely along the Fanno Creek Regional Trail System. The 10K does include 2 street crossings.

ORRC members running the 5K or 10K series, this race is included in that series.

This race benefits Imagine Possibilities, an organization that provides progressive daytime services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through care, creativity and community. Advocating for the best quality of life for every person as an individual, Imagine Possibilities acknowledges that all people have a lifetime of limitless potential.

If you’re one of those notoriously late people, this is a perfect event for you. Just show up and start when you arrive. With no worries about an exact start time, this laid back approach is perfect for those that are “on-time challenged” or those wanting a leisurely start to their Labor Day. Of course, all of you early morning runners can get your race in before other racers even get out of bed. So really, it’s the perfect race time for everyone! Make your Labor Day race plans now and register for the ORRC Greenway Trail Trial.
