Registration for the half marathon is $75 and includes a personalized racing bib (if you register by August 10), a finisher’s medal (also personalized with laser-engraving on the back if you register by August 25), and a tech shirt with sleeveless option.
The half marathon course is pretty flat with a total of 20 right angle-ish turns and one U-turn, making it an out-and-back. Water/ice/electrolyte stations will be available at miles 1.1, 2.0, 3.3, 4.3, 6.5, 8.4, 9.9, 11.2, and 12.0. The 4.3/8.4 mile and 6.5 mile stations will also have first aid available. The 4.3/8.4 mile station will also have a water hose for quick cool spraying. Finally, the 3.3/8.9 mile and 6.5 mile stations will have iced towels.*
* Who thinks that with all of these preparations in place, the weather will be a reprise of the stormy inaugural Oregon Marathon and Half aka the Typhoonathon?
In addition to the half marathon, there will be a 5K race for $30 (no tech shirt). Alas, no 10K option – but maybe instead of the half marathon, I’ll register for the 5K and run it back-to-back ….
