Ready for a new race in the Eugene/Springfield area? I’m always up for new races. The experienced race director of Level 32 Racing brings the new Two Cities Summit Run to Eugene on Sunday, July 26, 2015.

What awesome about the Two Cities Summit Run is that it is a point-to-point race. Participants will park at Skinner Butte Park in Eugene and be shuttled to the starting line in Springfield, at Eastgate Woodlands Park. You have two shuttle choices, one leaves Skinner Butte Park at 7:50 a.m., and the other at 8:35 a.m. A bag check is provided, so feel free to bring a shirt or something to keep warm on the shuttle to get to the start line.  The races will begin at 9 a.m.

As the name implies, participants will experience the summit(s) in our metro area. If you choose to participate in the 8k (just shy of 5 miles), you will traverse Skinner Butte (one summit). If you choose the 12k (shy of 7.5 miles), you will experience the Kelly Butte and Skinner Butte summits. This is a fantastic opportunity to get to tackle both summits, and run a great training distance for a half marathon, if you have one on the horizon. And, the finish line is at the summit of Skinner Butte! This will be an awesome, challenging push to the finish line.

Registration is $25 for adults, with same day race registration available for an additional $5. Deduct $5 if you are 17 and under or 60+. Don’t forget to add on, for $12, the short sleeve tech shirt for the Two Cities Summit Run event (only guaranteed if ordered by July 17). I love collecting event shirts from every race I run.

Awards will be presented to the  male and female overall finishers in each distance, as well as the top three in each age group.

This is bound to be an awesome event put on by Level 32 Racing. Get registered and tackle one, or both, summits!
