Love them. The 12th Annual Deschutes Dash Multisport Weekend is coming to Bend July 18 - July 19, 2015. Even if you aren't into "multi-sport" events, such as the triathlon, don't worry! The Deschutes Dash is hosting a wonderful array of events that are fitting for all levels of fitness, for young, old, swimmers, runners, and bicyclists - and those in between! Plus, the multisport festival takes place in Bend's Old Mill District, which is chocked full of dining options, stores, and general entertainment to keep a non-runner/swimmer/bicyclist happy! Additionally, spectator/viewing areas are abundant.

On Saturday, the Olympic Distance events will take place. These include a 10k run, triathlon (1300 yard swim, 25 mile bike, 10k run), aquabike (1300 yard swim, 25 mile bike), and a duathlon (10k run, 25 mile bike, 10k run).

On Sunday, the Spring Distance events will occur. You may chose from a 5k run, triathlon (600 yard swim, 12.5 mile bike, 5k run), aquabike (600 yard swim, 12.5 mile bike), duathlon (5k run, 12.5 mile bike, 5k run), the youth triathlon (400 yard swim, 6 mile bike, 1.5 mile run) and the Struble Orthodontics Splash N Dash Kids Obstacle Race (wow, sounds fun, can adults play, too?!).

In addition to this being a family friendly event, the Deschutes Dash is a sweet choice to get a double race weekend in. There are so many different events to choose from – the options are amazing. If I was choosing, I would participate in the 10k run on Saturday, and follow it up with the duathlon on Sunday.

The race beneficiary for the 12th Annual Deschutes Dash is The Center Foundation: Teaching, Training and Treating Youth in Central Oregon.
