First of the Firecracker Triple: 2015 Cook Park Marathon, Half Marathon and 5k Runs July 3rd

Celebrate the 4th of July with the first of the Firecracker Triple on Friday, July 3rd at Cook Park in Tigard. Participants have the choice of a full marathon, half marathon or 5k along paved paths and some dirt trails. The Cook Park Marathon, Half Marathon and 5k  all begin at 7AM. For participants who might exceed 5 hours, there is an early start option for the marathon. Registration includes a small processing, in addition to the noted cost. The marathon costs $50, the half marathon costs $45 and the 5k costs $40.  A casual event with one goal in mind: Have fun. Register online and pick up your packet just before the race. Packet pick will close 10 minutes before the gun goes off. All runners will receive a finisher’s medal.

This event is capped at 100 participants, so don’t delay if you are considering it. The start/finish line is at the south end of the park, near the river (17005 SW 92nd Avenue in Tigard). The marathon runners will run a 4.37 mile loop 6 times and the half marathon runners will run it 3 times. The 5k runners will run a 3.11 mile loop once. The course is open, so race officials ask for participants to run no more than two abreast and be courteous to others utilizing the park.

There will be an aid station at the start/finish. Water, Gatorade and snacks will be available with every loop. This event is chip timed and they count the laps for you, so you can focus on the run. Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers in the marathon and half marathon. Day-of registration will be available, if they have spots. Volunteers are always appreciated, a great opportunity to check out the race and consider it for next year.A fun run close in and the kick off for the Firecracker Triple, The Cook Park Marathon, Half Marathon and 5k is a great way to start the  holiday weekend.
