The Tilikum Trail Run and Family Fun event occurs Saturday, July 4, 2015. Grounds open at 9 a.m., and close at 1 p.m.
The Fourth of July offers so many racing and family run/walk activities. It’s simply super that we have all the options to pick the one that works best for our family, our schedule, and, in the case of the Tilikum Trail Run and Family Fun event, lets us support the scholarship fund at ‘Camp Tilikum‘.
The days festivities at Tilicum, located in Newborn, Oregon, include a 5k competitive race, a 5k fun run and a 1 mile walk. The grounds will open at 9 am. for check-in, and to gather your race bib. All distances will travel along a one mile path that zooms around ‘Lake Tilikum’. The path includes gravel, grass, road, and a pedestrian bridge. Strollers are welcome, but no animals permitted. Please keep in mind that this is considered a trail run, so be prepared for uneven terrain.
After the races, stick around at Tilikum with your family and enjoy boating, swimming and picnicking! On site, you will be able to purchase hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, chips and beverages for $5-7. The Tilikum Trail Run and Family Fun event will end at 1 p.m., so you can make it home in time to enjoy your evening Fourth of July festivities.
A quick note about day-of-race logistics. Please arrive at 9 a.m. to get checked in and parked. There is limited parking. Storage for personal items is available, as is child care. For child care, let Tilikum staff know absolutely no later than Friday, June 26 what needs you may have.
I strongly encourage you to pre-register for the Tilikum Trail Run and Family Fun events by June 26, 2015. If you do so, you will receive a t-shirt and goody bag included with your entry fee.

Cost: $35 for adults, $15 for youths (17 and under) until June 26, 2015. Those age 5 and under are free with 1 paid adult, and must pre-register. On June 27, price increases $10.
