Summer in Oregon officially arrives at 6:21 on 6/21. Well, perhaps the actual solstice occurs earlier in the day, but you won’t want to miss the opportunity to ring in the beginning of grilling and hammock season (or celebrate the dads in your life) by running the family-friendly Summer Solstice Dash & Bash 5k!
The benefit for Weekend Snack Pack, which helps provide snacks over the weekend for children who receive free or reduced school lunches, will take place at Dorris Ranch Park in Springfield, Oregon. Day of the race registration will be available but in order to secure a short-sleeve tech tee, be sure to register online by June 8th.
The course meanders through woodlands, orchards, and meadows in the park. After crossing the finish line, enjoy a host of activities for all ages including live music from The Cheeseburgers, a Jimmy Buffet tribute band. A beer garden will also be on site with complimentary beverage for finishers, as well as concessions.
Advanced registration online is $20, for the run only, or $30 to include the tech tee. Prices increase on race day. Children under 10 are free and groups are encouraged. Awards will be presented to the top finishers in each age division and to the top corporate and non-corporate teams.
