Several years ago, I was lucky enough to do the Warrior Dash at Horning’s Hideout and it was pretty much everything it promised and more. This year’s Havoc at the Hideout takes place at the same venue, but with likely a little less emphasis on the non-running portions of things.
It promises 5-6 miles of single track trails (SWOON) and plenty of other fun, non running related activities like fishing and paddle boats to keep your support crew occupied while you’re out tearing up the trails.
In keeping with the tropical theme of the race, post run events will include tropical treats and beverages before and during the awards ceremony. There’s also camping available at Horning’s Hideout, so if you want to make a weekend of it, just bring some cash for your tent site.
Where: Horning’s Hideout; 21277 NW Brunswick Canyon Rd, North Plains, OR 97133
When: Sunday, May 3rd at 8:30am
How Much: $30; plus be sure to bring some cash to pay the Horning’s Hideout entry fee.
