"Oregon’s premier wine country estate and one of Wine Spectator’s favorite locations; set on a 50 acre hilltop surrounded by an organic vineyard. We have an amazing 25 year old vineyard that is farmed organically. We are well known for producing award winning Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris wines."
This short snippet just makes me beyond-excited to participate in this event! pinot Noir and Pinot Gris are my absolutely favorite wines – ever. And note, wine tasting will be available after the event! Yeah, I’ll definitely be tasting a bit!
The course, an out-and-back, will take runners through beautiful farmlands, offering participants stellar views of the Willamette Valley, even Mt. Hood. Gentle rolling hills and a peaceful rural route will delight your senses. After reviewing the elevation profile, you can see that we will run down-hill to start the half marathon, zip along the gentle rollers, then have to kick-it into gear for the last burst to the finish line, climbing the category 2 hill back to Youngberg Hill. The 10k and 5k course maps are available for review, as well. All of the three courses will present you with a challenge, but the reward of getting to that finish line, and enjoying some award winning Pinot’s, will be worth it!
As this event is limited to 350 total participants, don’t wait too long to get your registration submitted! Your registration fee includes a technical event shirt (size guaranteed through April 15 only), a finisher medal for half marathon participants, and post event food and beverages at the finish line, Youngberg Hill.
I am genuinely excited to be participating in the Youngberg Hill Half Marathon. Running and wine … beautiful views, a challenging course … I’m sold! I hope to see you there!
