Race preview: 2015 Blacklight Run (Portland, OR)

Not all races and runs need to be competitive. Sometimes it’s just nice to get some of your non-running friends in on the action and for you to break from the mileage counting and let loose. The Blacklight Run immediately emphasizes on their website that their event is about glow-tastic fun than it is about speed. You throw on a white shirt (either your own, or the event shirt), and get covered in Blacklight Run UV Neon Glow Powder as you run or walk around under the blacklights for a three mile race! There are different colors of powders at different “zones” on the course–and all of the powders are natural and non-toxic. After you’ve finished the 5k, hang around for music and more glow powder (there’s a Celebration Glow Throw every fifteen minutes). The photos and video look awesome!
