Small Race Preview: Hazel Dell Half Marathon & 8k (Vancouver)

The 6th annual Hazel Dell Half Marathon and 8k will take place on Sunday, February 22. This is a small, locally organized race, which shares its proceeds with Panda Paws Rescue of Vancouver, WA.

This small race is great for those of us who like to avoid the crowded races; with last year’s field of just 235 participants there will be plenty of space to find your stride. Participants will receive an event shirt, a medal for the half marathon runners, and food and drink afterwards.

The course of the 8k is mostly hilly, while the half marathon has a nice stretch of flat ground along the Salmon Creek. If you would like to support this race and its cause, but don’t think that you can make it to the event itself, you have the option to register for the virtual run, which will also earn you the shirt and medal, but you will run the distance at your own convenience.
