January is usually a fairly sparse month for running events, probably as a result of our temperamental weather. What many people don’t realize is that while it may be a bit chilly, if you are prepared for the temperature, it is actually a pleasurable time to run. Most of the time it is raining, it gets a little warmer and is not as uncomfortable as it may appear. To help give reason to venture out, the Run for Rabi in Gladstone on January 18 is also raising money for a charitable cause, a Mission Trip to Fiji in the Spring of 2015.
The run is scheduled to start at 10 am, and will happen within the Oregon Conference Center grounds. It is being put on by the Seventh Day Adventists Church to help fund a mission trip to Fiji in the spring. Snacks and water will be available at the finish and it will conclude with a raffle. Raffle tickets will be available to purchase for $5.
