Kickstarter of the Week – Nightro Athletic

Location:  Sydney, Australia
Kickstarter End Date:  Dec. 17, 2014
Current Pledge: $15,593 of $40,000

It’s dark out there and there a wide range of clothing options to power up and let you be seen. But how many of those come not only with a safe product, but knowing that you helped out a good cause at the same time?

Nightro Athletics are a company from Sydney who are working to create and supply night running shirts for those of us who don’t have the luxury of daytime runs. From their campaign:

We spoke to runners and cyclists about the missing elements in activewear. There was a common theme with their responses – uncomfortable, unsafe and unfashionable. After many hours of trialling and testing different prototypes, we came to a solution. We combined wearable LED lights and a Reflective Tech Zebra Pattern to allow 360 degree visibility without compromising comfort and style.
The shirts will run $64 for one and $96 for two. And the cool part is that for every backer, they will donate a pair of socks to those in need around the world. Nightro actually works together with international communities to provide recycled running shoes to those in need.
